Ryan and I met in September of 2010, at Brigham Young
University-Idaho. We were in the same ward (at church), and home evening group. I had my eye on Ryan from day one... it took him a little bit
longer to notice notice. One Friday, Ryan and his roommate where making
their rounds in my apartment complex, socializing, and found
themselves at my apartment. We all talked, exchanged dating
advice, went out for ice cream and the rest was history. I must
have said something right, because Ryan left with the impression "I have
to take this girl out" and the next day we had our first official
date. We casually dated frequently, and together developed a deep
friendship. I chased after him, he pursued me (a lot), and eventually
in February we began exclusively dating. Ryan left BYU-Idaho for his
off-track in April and Valerie remained in Rexburg. They agreed to "take
a break" due to the long distance circumstances, but as they say,
"distance makes the heart grow fonder". Ryan Proposed on May 28th, 2011
and we looked forward to being sealed for time and all eternity in the
Spokane Washington temple on August 27th, 2011.... Then that didn't
happen. (If you read any depressing posts from mid to late 2010, now you know why!)
We were the right people for each other, to
be married in the right place, but last summer just was not the right
time. After taking breaks, dating each other, dating others, and then
coming to the realization that I didn't want to share, Ryan proposed
at the end of March.
We were SO excited to finally be married in
the San Diego LDS temple on July 28th, 2012.
And we were!
Second time is the charm ;)
that last photo is just beautiful.
